Conor has considerable experience in the worlds of technology, finance and property – the three areas in which he has started and run his own businesses.He is founder and CEO of Capricorn Financial, a mortgage brokerage offering a full range of financial planning services, established in 2005. It is now London’s largest independently owned mortgage broker, having handled more than £1.8b of lending in 2020.In 2016, using his experience as a mortgage advisor, he set up Smartr365, a state-of-the-art technology platform aimed at streamlining the process of obtaining a professionally advised mortgage and allowing mortgage brokers and advisors to manage their clients’ portfolios easily from one place.Conor is also the chief executive of CDCJ Investments, which develops, lets, and operates real estate across West London. Conor has developed significant expertise in financial services and in driving innovation in the fintech sector since 2005, specifically around CRM and SaaS (software as a service) solutions for advisors. Conor continues to operate as CEO for both Capricorn Financial and Smartr365, driving their ongoing expansion.
Matthew is Smartr365’s Chief Technical Officer, and is a highly experienced software development professional with over 25 years’ experience in the technology and IT sector. Matthew co-founded Endjin Limited – the number one Microsoft Azure partner in EMEA - in 2011, and has played a leading role in the development of some of the largest, fastest growing and most innovative solutions in retail, recruitment and fintech. Matthew has also held various high-level technology consultancy roles, including 8 years as CTO at Digital Healthcare.
Grant is a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and joined Smartr365 with a number of years post qualifying experience in financial services and asset management. He is responsible for managing the accounting and financial control functions, establishing a financial strategy for the profitable long-term growth of the business, and engaging to drive the strategic goals and initiatives, including involvement in future funding and forecasting.
Billy joined Smartr365 in June 2020 as Chief Commercial Officer. He is responsible for creating and executing the platform’s commercial strategy, focusing on customer success processes to ensure users get maximum value from the platform both during and after their initial purchase.He has previously held roles at TrustPilot and WeWork where he experienced integration of software as a service (SAAS) technology into businesses, which is something he will continue in his career at Smartr365.
Jens joined Smartr365 in June 2020 as Director of Experience and Design. Jens leads the design and vision for the Smartr365 product line-up. Jens has a wealth of experience designing, building, and successfully taking new products to market rapidly. With millions of app downloads from previous product releases such as HyperJar, a fintech consumer banking app, social networks, video and cloud SAAS products, Jens designs experiences that truly help our users with the simplest design possible. Jens heads up our new Mobile unit as well as the design and experience team for Smartr365.
Thora joined Smartr365 in March 2019 as Product Manager and leads the product team at Smartr365, with responsibility for determining what we build next. Thora has a strong background delivering new software within top tier financial institutions internationally, from the FX trading floor at CIBC to the mortgage valuation models at TD. Her approach to product is to deliver user value quickly by understanding the needs of the customer and using lean and agile methods. She is passionate about solving problems and constantly improving the product offering at Smartr365.
Edwin joined Smartr365 in May 2020 as Head of Product Engineering. He has over 23 years of extensive experience in software engineering and leading operations for Technology, Business Development and Application Development within a diverse range of industries and government entities. Edwin also has a strong background in AI and Machine learning.
Steve joined Smartr365 in 2019 as Head of Network and Club Relationships from his previous role at technology provider Iress, where he was Key Account Manager, and comes with more than a decade of mortgage market experience. Steve has responsibility for driving business growth and managing the company’s relationships with brokers and lenders.Steve began his career as a mortgage advisor and has since taken on roles including digital community manager at MortgageGym and as business development manager at TSB Bank.Through his experience both as a mortgage broker and in the mortgage software space, Steve truly understands the friction in the application process, and how technology can help both the advisors and clients.
